Kettlebell Basics will teach you the proper form and function of kettlebell training. In this class, you will be performing moves that incorporate total body stabilization that will increase strength and burn calories. The beauty of kettlebell training is that it is total body all the time. This class provides baseline training and skills for you to advance to the next kettlebell training level. The ability to demonstrate proper form in all lifts is a pre-requisite for progressing to Advanced Kettlebells.

MyZone
MYZONE

Available at WAC Wauwatosa

The MYZONE Physical Activity Belt is worn during all concerted physical activity and has a unique memory chip which allows up to approximately 16 hours of activity to be stored while exercising away from the MYZONE center. Data is automatically and wirelessly uploaded when in range of a MYZONE Console. Using free online account pages, users can view their current and past activity – this creates an ongoing log book for all their physical activity efforts with personal goal setting functions as a key feature. Users can also set MEPs challenges with friends and colleagues.

Are you new to running and want to build up to a 5k without getting injured? Are you an avid runner who wants to become stronger and build speed? Are you stuck somewhere in the middle and looking for a spark? This class will focus on building miles safely while improving your leg and core strength. We will focus on runner-specific strength and stretching techniques to help you avoid shin splints, plantar fasciitis, IT band injuries, tight calves and other ailments that come with running. This class will take you through agility drills, help improve your form, encourage you to go the extra mile and put the fun back in running! At the end of summer you can choose from 2 great 5k events to work toward:

Tri Faster Spin & Swim

The Tri Faster Run Circuit workout combines short bursts of running with fullbody, dynamic strength exercises. A mixture of sports inspired cardio and strength conditioning exercises are used to challenge you to become stronger, leaner and all-around fit. BodyBudget

Body Budget is a program that emphasizes personal choice and lifestyle changes for manageable and sustainable weight loss. Participants meet weekly for a weigh-in and interactive topic. The program looks at the science behind healthy nutrition and weight loss, as well as examining the reasons people eat when they are not hungry. Practical tools are provided to help members change lifestyle habits that have limited previous success.

BodyBudget Express

WAC Greenfield

This is a streamlined version of the WAC’s popular BodyBudget weight loss program developed by Kim Flannery, WAC Nutrition Director. Each week you will be accountable for a half hour of exercise and a half hour nutrition class. A boot-camp style workout will be provided, or you can work out on your own if you prefer. Try the BodyBudget method for tracking your calorie balance. A weekly weigh-in will document your progress.
