Program/Class Descriptions
Barre Burner
Barre Burner ($) - Barre Burner is a total body workout that incorporates different techniques utilizing the ballet barre, free weights, and mat work. This workout will lengthen, stretch, tone, and sculpt to give you that long and lean dancer body that you have always wanted without feeling like you have two left feet!
Belly Dancing
BELLY DANCING - Looking for a new cardio-core workout? Come experience Belly Dancing — a low-impact, cardio-based class that tones your core while you groove, shimmy and shake.
Bike Club
BIKE CLUB – Jump on your bike and join WAC instructors for an invigorating outdoor adventure. Cruise local roads and paved bike trails near the club. Members need to bring bicycle, helmet and water bottle. A great way to meet new friends!
Bootcamp
BOOT CAMP - An intense workout that will include kickboxing, strength and conditioning, speed work and plyometric drills. Improve your stamina, fitness level, balance and strength.
Cardio Circuit
CARDIO CIRCUIT - Get plugged into this circuit format class. No tricky choreography, just challenging and fun stations featuring cardio, muscle conditioning and balance training exercises.
Chair Yoga
CHAIR YOGA - A class that focuses on breathing and poses to empower the mind, body and spirit as well as build strength. A chair will be incorporated into the class.
Core
CORE - A conditioning class to increase the strength and endurance of your core muscles (abdominals, lower back and hip complex).
Interval
INTERVAL - A class which involves alternating short bursts of intense activity with active recovery. This is an efficient training method that can help you increase your intensity without burning yourself out.
Lower Bodyworks
LOWER BODYWORKS – A conditioning class focusing on the lower body.
Pilates
PILATES - Learn to target your core muscles as you tone, sculpt, strengthen and improve flexibility in this mat based class.
PiYo
PIYO ($) - A unique blend of Pilates and Yoga with a fusion of strength, flexibility and sports conditioning.
Power Yoga
POWER YOGA ($) - A class taught with an athletic approach which follows the flow of breathing through a sequence of interweaving asanas. Sequences emphasize balance and core strengthening exercises.
Pre/Postnatal Yoga
PRE/POSTNATAL YOGA ($) - A yoga class designed specifically for the "expecting" or "new mom." A gentle practice designed to maintain range of motion through several safe sequences. Our experienced instructors will teach breathing and meditation techniques in this time of unique body changes.
Ramp!
RAMP! – Try this new “slant” on a traditional favorite. From aerobic training to strength conditioning, this class featuring slanted risers delivers unlimited versatility. No tricky choreography, just great results!
Restorative Yoga
RESTORATIVE YOGA ($) - A practice designed to restore and renew the body. Traditional yoga techniques are taught to relieve fatigue and muscle tension. Pranayama (breath work), balancing and nurturing poses will help calm the mind. Props may be incorporated.
Ringside
RINGSIDE - A great cardio class involving bags and boxing gloves. Bag skills, agility, strength, balance and flexibility are gained through this class. Class size may be limited.
Run Club
RUN CLUB – Running is one of the best ways to get fit and healthy in a relatively short amount of time. Take your running outdoors and join our fun and motivating group led by a WAC trainer in the surrounding areas by the club.
Senior Dance
SENIOR DANCE - A variety of dance based movements including Zumba and Hi-Lo.
Senior Weights
SENIOR WEIGHTS is a class focused on weight training for the older adult. (55 minutes)
Senior Yoga
SENIOR YOGA is a class designed with the senior member in mind (but everyone is welcome to attend). The focus will be on flexibility, balance, strength and relaxation (55 min.)
Spin
SPIN - A group cycling class using specially designed bikes that is set to music for mood and motivation. Instructors utilize motivation, sports psychology and cycling techniques to create a journey for the mind as well the body. Pre-registration is required.
Starter Spin
STARTER SPIN - An introductory class for those new to Spin. An instructor will spend time explaining how to set up your bike, the different hand positions and biking techniques.
Step
STEP - A high energy, low impact, aerobic class using a low-lying bench. May include muscle conditioning as part of the format.
Step Fusion
STEP FUSION is a new class that will take our popular step workout and combine the benefits of muscle conditioning to get the most out of your 55 minutes.
Total Bodyworks
TOTAL BODYWORKS - A total body conditioning class using a variety of training tools and equipment such as free weights, resistance bands and body bars.
Treading
TREADING - An instructor led group treadmill class using various speeds and inclines. Participants will have their own treadmill to allow for making adjustments based on individual heart rate and fitness level. Pre-registration is required.
Tri-Fit
TRI-FIT ($) - Whether you are inspiring to become a triathlete or just want to take your fitness up a level, Tri-Fit training can help get you there. This course will teach you how to become a stronger swimmer. More efficient biker, and better runner by improving your time, stroke and endurance.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
VINYASA FLOW YOGA ($) - A flowing yoga style that adapts the practice to each student's individual needs. Attention is focused on breathing techniques and developing advanced skills through weekly progressions and modifications. Props may be incorporated.
Yoga
YOGA - A perfect complement to your existing fitness program or a great workout all on its own. This ancient practice creates a strong and flexible body through a series of poses that enhance focus and calm the mind.
Zumba
ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting fitness class.
