Tulip-A-Thon: Parkinson Awareness

Announcing the WAC's very first Parkinson's Disease (PD) Awareness fundraiser. Come and get moving with some of the finest Group Fitness Instructors while supporting a great cause. Participate in Zumba and NIA classes, or check out the Kickboxing and Dance demonstrations for people with PD. Social time and light refreshments to follow.

All proceeds from this event will go the Wisconsin Parkinson Association.

(participants with Parkinson's Disease are not required to donate)

The tulip is the official symbol within the Parkinson's community. In 1980, JWS Van der Wereld, a Dutch horticulturist who had Parkinson disease, developed a red and white tulip. Van der Wereld named his prized flower, the 'Dr. James Parkinson' tulip, to honor the English apothecary surgeon who originally described Parkinson's in 1812
