March 31 COVID-19 Update | Clubs Temporarily Closed

March 31, 2020

Dear WAC Members,

It has been over a week since we closed our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We miss you and our energetic clubs more than ever. We care about you and your family, and we hope you are healthy and remaining positive during this public health crisis.

We have spent the past week securing all our facilities and working on how we will re-open our clubs once we are able to do so. We want to remind you that your membership is on freeze—at no cost to you—for the remainder of the closure, and you will not see a bill for dues on April 1. We will continue to send you regular communication to update you.

It is important for us to stay connected and engaged with you now more than ever. We want to make sure you have all of the resources available to you to help you continue to make your health and fitness goals. Last week, we launched Move@Home: a series of virtual classes that Members and Team Members can engage in at home.

Check out the videos on our webpage, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube channel, and feel free to share with your family and friends.

In addition to helping you stay active at home, we want to help our community. Our health centers are in great need of blood donations. We are using our facilities to host two blood drives with the American Red Cross. Blood drives will be held Friday, April 17 at Lake Country and Tuesday, April 21 at Brookfield both from 9am-3pm. To schedule an appointment, visit thewac.com/blooddrive. Amazon is also thanking donors April 1-30 with a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card by email. Visit rcblood.org/together for more information.

Lastly, we would like to extend our utmost gratitude to those who must leave their home every day to allow essential services to continue. Specifically, all the medical professionals who put themselves at risk on a daily basis to treat the sick and attempt to fight the spread of this disease deserve our endless appreciation.

Wishing all of you the best. Be safe and remain healthy.

Dear Wisconsin Athletic Club Members,

We appreciate your support during this very challenging time for the WAC and our community. We tried our best to keep your club open while maintaining a healthy environment for our members and staff. After much thoughtful consideration, we have made the decision to temporarily close all Clubs beginning tonight at 8pm *update* 5pm. We are not sure how long this closure will last. We will be following guidelines from the CDC and what we believe is in the best interest for our members and staff.

We have never closed our doors in the 44 years we have been in business and we didn't make this decision lightly. We intend to open our clubs as soon as reasonably possible but not before it is determined that it is prudent to do so. We realize that these times are hard for all of us and understand that the WAC is your home away from home. In the end, the safety of our members and staff is our highest priority.

During this time, your membership will be placed on freeze at no cost to you beginning Wednesday, March 18. After that, we will credit your account for the remainder of March and for the duration of our closure. You will not need to call to place your membership on freeze. We will notify you when the club reopens and billing will resume.

If you have registered for paid classes or have appointments scheduled with our Personal Trainers, Tennis Pros, Massage Therapists, Swim Instructors or any other staff during this time, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will not be charged. All pre-paid services will be honored.

We know how important the WAC is to your lifestyle. We will continue to communicate with you as we obtain new information. We look forward to welcoming you back to the WAC shortly. Please be sure to check the website and follow us on social media for updates.

We appreciate all members and are thankful to our hardworking staff during this unprecedented time.

Wishing all of you the best. Be safe and remain healthy.
