Summer Tennis Camp

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the communication process in case of inclement weather?

Wisconsin weather can be unpredictable! If conditions aren’t suitable for lessons, we’ll notify you via email (to your primary email address) and through the WAC+ App. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will only be made up the Friday following the cancelled class.

How are students placed into correct levels?

During registration, you can provide details about your child’s tennis experience. On the first day of camp, we’ll assess all students and adjust groups as needed to ensure they’re in the appropriate level.

Can students move to a different level?

Yes! We recognize that every student progresses at their own pace. Our coaching staff will monitor development and make adjustments as needed, with level changes typically discussed on a weekly basis.

What does a typical lesson include?

Each lesson features warm-ups, repetition drills, and progression play, with a strong emphasis on serves. Higher-level classes incorporate more point play. Water breaks are scheduled as needed.

Will students have the opportunity to play matches?

Match play is included based on class level. While full matches aren’t possible due to time constraints, students will participate in point play and match-play scenarios.

Can my student make up a missed class?

Make-up classes are only available on Fridays, which is also our designated rain make-up day. To maintain class structure and appropriate staffing, we are unable to accommodate schedule changes on other days.

How can my student gain extra match play or tournament experience?

After the first week of evaluations, we’ll send an email to students in the appropriate class levels with information on additional match play and tournament opportunities. Most players in the program do not need this additional experience.

Where do I go for the first lesson?

Check in at the Arrowhead High School Tennis Shed by Courts 7 & 8.

What should I bring to camp?

  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat or Visor
  • Sunglasses
  • Tennis Racket
  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing
  • Small or Medium Towel (Recommended on hot days)

Are restrooms available?

Yes! Restrooms are located between the tennis courts and the football field.

What are the requirements for High Performance eligibility?

Students must have competed in USTA-sanctioned tournaments and hold a UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) to enroll in High Performance training.

What if my child has allergies or requires medication?

If your child carries medication (such as an EpiPen), please inform the coach at the start of the first session.
