Fight Back Against Parkinson’s
We are learning every day that there are ways in which people with Parkinson’s disease can enhance their daily quality of life and even build impressive power, strength, flexibility, and speed!
Rock Steady Boxing Lake Country and Strike Strong Wauwatosa improve the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease through a non-contact boxing fitness program that builds community among participants.
Boxing & Parkinson’s Disease
Boxing is a dynamic, full-body workout that can help improve balance, coordination, range of motion, and cognitive function—key areas affected by Parkinson’s. These specialized programs focus on these benefits with drills designed to support everyday movement and overall well-being.
Many participants see improvements like better balance, fewer tremors, and even a reduced need for medication. While results vary, our programs are tailored to each individual, ensuring a supportive experience at any fitness level.
Who Can Box with Us?
Men and women of all ages and stages of Parkinson’s are welcome to join. Classes are tailored to each boxer’s needs and abilities, and no prior boxing experience is required.
Each boxer is required to complete a one-hour intake assessment with our head coach. This assessment helps us understand your strengths and limitations, determine the appropriate class level for you, and establish a baseline of your functional status for ongoing monitoring.
