Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons for Kids and Adults
Looking for more personalized instruction or a more flexible schedule? Our private and semi-private swim lessons are a great option for both kids and adults—especially during the busy summer months!

Putting Up A Fight

BY ANN GLOR
PARKINSON’S PROGRAM CHAMPION
Parkinson’s disease a progressive neurodegenerative disease that primarily impacts movement, gradually affecting everyday tasks and quality of life. In the United States alone, more than one million people are living with Parkinson’s, and the global number is estimated at over 10 million. Although research is advancing, there is currently no cure.
At the Wisconsin Athletic Club, we’re committed to combating Parkinson’s. Through our specialized Rock Steady and Strike Strong programs, we’re empowering individuals with Parkinson’s to take control and fight back.
About Our Programs
Rock Steady Boxing Lake Country and Strike Strong Wauwatosa are non-contact boxing fitness programs specifically designed for people living with Parkinson’s disease. More than just a workout, these programs foster a strong sense of community and support among participants.
Many of our boxers have reported noticeable improvements, including reduced tremors, better balance enhanced mobility and some experienced a decreased reliance on medication. Our goal is to create classes that meet individual fitness levels and personal goals.
Why Boxing?
Boxing is a high-intensity, full-body workout that targets the very functions Parkinson’s disease threatens: balance, gait, range of motion, and cognitive processing. Our classes integrate boxing drills with functional training to provide a well-rounded, therapeutic fitness experience that is both challenging and rewarding.
Who Can Box With Us?
Men and women of all ages and stages of Parkinson’s are welcome to join. Classes are tailored to each boxer’s needs and abilities, and no prior boxing experience is required.
